MCESC has established important collaborative ties with area preschool programs. Previous beginning preschool teachers, from Head Start Disability Programs and Early Learning Initiative (ELI) partnerships representing public and private preschool programs, have been part of the Mahoning County Entry Year Teacher Programs.
Private PK-3 licensed preschool teachers have not had the opportunity to advance from a 2-year Provisional license to the 5-year Professional license until this year. The Mahoning County Center of Practice has designed a Preschool Cohort of teachers to investigate this dilemma. We have hired a full-release mentor, Tina DeVito (T.DeVito@MahoningESC.org), specifically to work with these Preschool teachers.
